God is My Refuge: A Review

Job transition for my husband.

Major surgery for my mom.

Sickness for my son.

Sleep woes for my daughter.

Kathy-Howard-Refuge1That is just a glimpse of a few of the things we have going on as a family this week. I am sure you have your own list.

To me this is simply life. Ask me next week and I am certain things will have been subtracted and something added. I live with JOY not because everything is ideal and perfect but rather because I have Christ in my heart. He is the one fighting my battles for me.

Scripture has all the answers for our trials…for our troubles.

“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7

Kathy Howard has developed a daily devotional called God is My Refuge. It is a guide for us when we feel like life is filled with worry, doubt, discouragement, brokenness, and trouble. It is filled with scripture, questions to guide your thoughts closer to Christ, and action ideas for assuring you take steps in a forward direction. Because some times there are things that capture our heart and mind so greatly that we need help remembering to get dressed, eat, and smile.

Kathy does a beautiful job walking that road with us in her book. While I have not  used it as a daily devotional but rather a “go-to” devotional as needed I can see how it could benefit woman who are in the midst of divorce, loss, illness, or any sort of large life change.

She has provided a  Sample Devotional for you to read. And you can order your own copy for yourself or a loved one here.
