You are…BEAUTIFUL!

Dear Child of Mine,

Days pass, seasons change, and months turn into years and yet I still look at you as if you were a newborn.  Every time I watch you try something new, all of my fears and excitement return as if it were the first time I laid eyes on you.  The love you feel for a child can blow your mind.  Joy, Pride, Delight.  Words cannot express how you feel when you look at your child.

So today, I want one thing for you and that is to hold strong to the truth.  That truth is that you are beautiful and that you matter.  So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” (Gen 1:27)  You were crafted with beauty and purpose. Beautiful is defined as having qualities that delight the senses.  A person becomes beautiful when they know that they are loved.  And you my child are loved.  God longs to bring this reality into your life, Himself.  “The King is enthralled by your beauty.”(Psalm 45:11)

Now, I am not saying that you won’t fail or have heart break because you will.  Sometimes more then others.  As long as you hold strong to the truth, you will come out the other side, stronger and even more beautiful than when you went in. I recently came across a quote that read, “Beauty is not found in looks, not in what people say or even what they do.  Beauty is found in just what they are.”  Just be you, and you will be just fine.  You are perfect the way you are.  The world needs your beauty, which is why you are here.

And as you go through life, if you start to forget this truth just remember that God became man, died and rose again just to be with you.  “The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save.  He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.”  (Zephaniah 3:7)
