Speaking

This fun loving mother of two has a passion for helping women live an abundant life. Carey is a certified Christian Life Coach, Art Teacher at Cherry Hills Christian school, author of Cravings {the devotional} and was thankful to contribute a chapter in Craving Connection.

She has been a featured guest on The Channelmom Show, Family Life Radio, Conversations Live, Living Inspired with Tricia Goyer, Inspired to Action with Kat Lee and many more. She served as the Creative Director for the national blogging conference, Allume in Greenville, South Carolina from 2013-2015.

Carey is equipped with a degree in Religion and 20 years of experience in full-time church ministry. She has a gift for teaching and equipping women in their quest to know and be in a relationship with God. She is ready to inject creativity and inspiration into your next women’s event.

Carey is now scheduling events for 2018 & 2019 and would love the opportunity to partner together in equipping the women in your church, small group, or ministry as they seek to grow in their relationship with Christ.

Carey’s efforts in full-time ministry have allowed her over 20 years of public speaking and small group facilitation experience in mega-churches. She has spoken at weekend services with crowds equaling 3,000, led women’s retreat with attendance of up to 50, and facilitated a small group of 8. She finds joy and fruit in it all.

Carey’s talks are interactive conversations that encourage women to brainstorm, think with fresh perspective, and live out life with God’s word as their guide. Through honesty and humor Carey shares her struggles to find God in seasons of chaos, her battle with attempting to live perfectly that resulted in two rounds of an eating disorder and the victory that eventually came in discovering how to live her life authentically, free in God's grace for her. .

Booking Carey for our Women's Christmas banquet was one the best decisions we made! Carey's friendly, humorous speaking style had us both laughing and crying, but mostly left us incredibly inspired. The women are still talking about her and we can't wait to have her back again.

I had gone back and forth with going or not going to hear you talk last night and can I tell you that I am SO glad I ‘paused’ to come!! It was just what I needed!! I seriously wish you could have been me for a second last night… listening to you speak was truly like listening to Him talk directly through you to me about what I deal with day-to-day in life, home, and mommyhood. Right down to your stories about your massage gift card, struggles with eating disorders, and praying while doing dishes. I wondered if anyone else felt like God was tapping them on the head telling them to pay attention? I’m so excited to use the resources and tools you gave us.

To book Carey for your next event please contact her here. She lives in the Denver, Colorado area but is available for travel. Rates are based off type and length of event, travel, and supplies needed. All talks can be modified to your groups needs. Carey wants to hear the heart and vision of your group and know how she can serve you best. Below is a list of talks Carey has done in the past to get the ideas rolling.

Paper Plate Project
The online world never sleeps and as women we can find ourselves in fear that we are missing out if we aren’t constantly keeping up with the buzz. Yet, as Christians rest is more than a nice thing to do. It is a requirement. Creating designated time for Sabbath was the first thing God set aside and deemed holy. If you find yourself without space to be still this offering is for you. We will look at the value of Sabbath and discuss practical ways that you can honor God so that you may have an abundant life.
He says, ‘Be still, and know that I am God;I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.’” Psalm 46:10
Connect & Create
As a recovering perfectionist, Carey will share her story of shredding the desire for a perfect life by teaching herself how to rest in the raw and real of God through art. In this teaching session she is inviting you to get your hands dirty! You will use paint, stamps, and paper to create cards that will serve as daily reminders for God’s truth in your life. No art experience is needed – promise! Come, play, experiment, and discover what it looks like to enjoy the process of creating with freedom. Wear something that can get messy. (This talk requires a minimum of 2 hours.)
Punctuate with a Pause
Does the idea of taking time to pause seem foreign or out-of-place in your world? If so, it is time for a reminder that your to-do list is NOT greater than the to-do list Christ had on earth! We know from the Bible that Jesus Christ took dedicated time to rest and enjoy life and we are asked to follow His lead. Through this class women will learn how to define, plan, and allow room for Punctuating Life with a Pause. *The retreat version of this talk includes sensory stations, Praying with Color, praying the scriptures, journal making, praying with pictures and more.
“Jesus often withdrew to quiet places and prayed” Luke 5:16
Pin God 1st
In a world saturated with social media it is easy to find yourself choosing Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram before God. Carey will share her personal wake-up call and give women a biblical perspective and practical tips of why and how to choose God 1st each and every day.
“We love because he 1st loved us.” 1 John 4:19
Expect Greatness
Some days life hands you the unexpected. Using the story of Mary and Joseph, along with her own personal journey with divorce, Carey reminds us no matter the surprises life hands us we need to expect greatness from God and His love for us.
“Nothing is impossible for God.” Luke 1:37
