How can a little toe hurt soooo bad?
For a week now the toe next to my pinky toe (does that toe have a name?) has been killing me. Like excruciating pain! Besides ripping the nail a bit I have no idea what I did to cause this amount of discomfort. I feel the need to also say I am not a pain wimp. I endured two c-sections and barely touched my pain meds and even had the doctors intentionally give me the least amount of anesthesia possible for the actual surgery. So…not a wimp!
But, as I limp around I can’t let go of wondering how this LITTLE toe can be causing me so much annoyance. It reminds me of something else that is little that hurts us.
Little voices that whisper:
“I am not a good enough mom.”
“Why don’t my kids behave like her kids?”
“Why don’t I have that Pinterest perfect organized kitchen?”
Do you know those little voices I am speaking of? They may be little but they hurt us, wound us, and do nasty damage. Unless we remedy those little voices that speak untruths we will be crippled as we walk through this God given life. And God doesn’t want us hobbling He wants us leaping and dancing joyfully through our day.
“We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”
2 Corinthians 10:5
So mamas…take those little whispers captive today! Fight them and know that there is truth is this:
